Oh, it also happens when other features want to load this popup page. For instance the CDN page when I try to create a bucket.

How can you exclude directories from being rewritten to download from your CDN?

I've tried every combination of folder paths I can think of and none of them prevent W3 Total Cache from rewriting the URLs that reference files in my wp-content/uploads/siteimages folder. This folder contains items I manually uploaded via FTP and am referencing on the site in certain widgets. W3 is breaking these images on my site because it's rewriting them to Amazon S3 urls when the files are not on Amazon S3, nor are they scheduled to be uploaded by W3. This could be a problem for a number of other plugins that use the Uploads folder for things like backups as well.

W3 seems to be set to rewrite all URLs that reference anything within Uploads if you have "Host Attachments" checked.

In the field below labeled "Disable CDN on the following pages:" I've tried the following and none work:

/kunden/homepages/33/xxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/testsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
/kunden/homepages/33/xxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/testsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*
/tempsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
/tempsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*
tempsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
tempsite/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*
/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*
/wp-content/uploads/siteimages
wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*
wp-content/uploads/siteimages
my-domain-name.com/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/
my-domain-name.com/wp-content/uploads/siteimages/*

The first two are absolute file paths in Linux. The rest are variations of the URL to the folder.

I do not have any kind of page caching on, only S3 CDN for attachments only.

alleycakes on "[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Static Homepage and 404"

I have a static homepage on my site, and for some reason, I'm getting a 404 error for that page occasionally when I visit the site. As in, the rest of the page shows up fine... the sidebar, header, etc. It's just the static homepage portion that shows 404 sometimes.

Whenever the 404 error happens, I just delete the cache, and it goes back to normal. I can't figure out a trigger for it, and it doesn't seem to happen at any particular interval (it happened after a day one time, and after over a week another time, just as an example).

Any advice on how to get this to stop?

The browser cache function is causing image upload error (Http error/503 error). Many have suggested workarounds like increasing php mem limit or writing some lines in .htaccess or even changing the image from png to jpg.

None of those worked, and I know caching is a tricky thing to use, so i went and disabled the browser cache while leaving the page cache on, and bam! It uploads without problem.

What i don't understand is, i am logged in as admin, and by default it SHOULD behave like a un-cached website, but alas it just doesn't.

So I removed this line at the top of my functions.php file.

header('Content-Type: text/javascript; charset=UTF-8');

Fixed.

I've been able to narrow it down to the object cache, without it the page generation time is 3-5 seconds faster!? Disabled it now, but am interested how this is possible?

Why does "?repeat=w3tc" still show on mapped home URLs in multisite? It's a totally pointless string to add at the end. How do I get rid of it so that my multisite users don't have their SEO hurt, as well as getting upset from their sloppy site urls.

And yes, I'm on 0.9.3.

I'm getting this exact same issue. It's incredibly stupid and I want it to go away.

Hey,

is there a away to also get /page/2, /page/3, /page/4 etc. pre-cached? So some tweak that checks if a page 2, 3, 4 of the recent page does exist and pre-caching it?

At the moment pre-cache works well, but all pages 2, 3, 4 etc. are not cached unless any user visits it (and waits several seconds because of an uncached page :-/)

Any idea?

Hi there,
Disclaimer: I'm a newbie, so excuse my ignorance.

So, I installed W3, as per instructions. But on activation my site goes down with 500 internal server error.

Is there a default config setting that's causing this?
Or plugin incompatibility?
My site URL: inspiredgifts.net

Thanks,
Athy.

Hi there Odd Duck,

Any update on this? I'm having the same problem. Getting 500 internal server error when activate plugin.
I'm using the X WP theme & found this (below) on forum. Have implemented suggested settings, but still nothing.

'Make sure it’s CSS Tidy, then following these config:

Disable inline JS & CSS
Enable ‘combine only’

Uncheck pretty much everything else on the W3 Cache minify page.'

Seems the problem could be linked to the 'minify' settings....

Let me know if you have any luck getting this resolved.

No, the initial upload has to be done using the optins provided at the top of your admin side... for the rest, yes, they will be uploaded by the plugin

Howie Guevarra on "[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Deleting files from media library if using CDN"

Hi CCChris, the CDN would be caching your origin files from the origin server; and from time to time the cache is repopulated. It is important that the images reside in your origin server so that the CDN can cache it at any time. Once your site is integrated with MaxCDN through a CDN Plugin (like W3TC or WP-Supercache or CDNLinker Lite), the caching is automatic and you don't need to upload images in the CDN. It is important to note that the CDN's purpose is to distribute your content and make your site faster, but should not primarily serve as your origin server.

In MaxCDN, we do have PUSH ZONE where the files reside in the CDN servers, but it is not advisable for small files. But if your traffic and files are really huge, we can also help you explore that option, but push zones are normally used for large downloadable files. Email us at support@maxcdn.com with the details and we can help you more personally and faster.

I have setup Nginx with w3 total cache. No errors are found. It seems like the cache is not created. I enabled debug mode and it show enabled. Is page cache created properly? How do I know the cache is created properly.

I have W3 Total Cache PRO installed together with NextGen Facebook OpenGraph+ PRO. I keep getting these errors several times a day.

Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: File "/var/www/html/medtech/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-facebook/cache/ngfb-social-styles.min.css" doesn't exist.

What can I do to fix these errors?
