W3TC does not get along with something on our site, and I can't figure out what.
Our site is a Wordpress site with 14.750 posts, 20 categories and a crowded frontpage. Runs on a dedicated server with a single cPanel account, 1.3GB ram 2.0GB swap. Here is the SAR visualization of the server load and swap usage for yesterday:
Throughout the day:
- WP is in maintenance mode, showing a static under maintenance page.
- Panel access is denied for all users except admin (me).
- All plugins deactivated except W3TC, WP Maintenance Mode and WP Block Admin.
- W3TC is activated but disabled, cached content purged.
!! at 18:13 we deactivated W3TC.
!! at 21:27 we reactivated W3TC, but did not enable any cache options.
There is a clear overload at consistent 15 minute intervals which drains all resources, and I received a total of 18 mysql FAILED & mysql RECOVERED mail notifications each from cPanel service monitor during the day.
I am aware this may be a simple configuration mishap, or just an indication of an irrelevant problem, but I am quite lost at the moment.
What to do?
