I had an issue with W3TC where I could not get past a white screen, and could not get into admin, so I ended up having to rename the plugin folder and clear the cache folder via FTP. Once I did that, the site came up and I could get into admin. At that point, the plugin was of course in disabled status.
So, I then decided I wanted to delete the whole plugin. But I remember that when I tried this in the past, all heck broke loose and ended up having to reinstall it.
Since the plugin was already disabled, I decided that I would just continue with the deletion manually, afraid of clicking "delete" in the plugin list.
So, these are the things I have done so far:
1. renamed the plugin folder (always afraid to delete something)
2. renamed the cache folder and created a new empty one
3. removed all the W3TC code from htaccess
4. Renamed these wp-content files: w3-total-cache-config.php, db.php, advanced-cache-php
5. Renamed the folder wp-content/w3tc-config
My question is, am I done? Anything else to do other than to delete the renamed files and folders? Nothing in the database to do?
I'm also afraid that if I delete the renamed W3TC folder that some error will be created. Is that not a concern?
