Need4WPspeed on "[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Disable Cache Preload, Disable Garbage collection?"

Hi Frederick,
Is it possible if site does not get updated frequently (maybe every few months) to disable the automatic page cache preload and garbage collection. W3 works beautifully for a few days but then breaks, so was hoping just to leave all in its working state without rebuilding and emptying the cache? Or if you have any other suggestions? Thanks
