If the additional styles are generated by plugins, you could try to dequeue/deregister them and add the css output directly to your stylesheet.
In case they are really page specific you could enable "Inline CSS minification" to save a few bytes.

Unfortunately, it's still not working.

I still think it's got to do with W3 Total Cache as it only happens when it's enabled.

I had outdated Woocommerce files bundled too - I have disabled them and will write to theme developer as suggested..

I tried to deactivate and then delete completely the plugin W3TC, but the problem is still there. Please if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

You are certain your host supports Keep Alive?
Are there errors in your error logs?
Have you tried removing everything that writes to .HTACCESS except W3TC and everything in .HTACCESS except what W3TC has written (without removing the .HTACCESS directive you've added)?

I'm using W3 Total Cache v0.9.4.1 and WordPress 4.2.2 CloudFlare extension for W3TC is configured and enabled.

But, even changing CloudFlare settings from W3TC (development mode, minify, Rocket Loader and Security) works, it's impossible to Purge cache because of error

Cannot Purge CloudFlare Cache: Please Enter CloudFlare e-mail

This has been caused because in /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/extensions/CloudFlare/general-settings-box.php file you run w3_ui_element() function to generate input fields, but for second parameter (ID) instead to provide proper id values cloudflare_email/cloudflare_key/coludflare_zone you send cloutflare.email/cloudflare.key/cloudflare.zone and these are invalid ID's.

Then, in file /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/js/options.js you have function w3tc_cloudflare_api_request() with validating that three parameters:

    var zone = jQuery('#cloudflare_zone');

but as you have wrong ID's set for inputs, this email.val() will return undefined and fail validation.

I changed ID values to proper wording (underscore instead dot) in general-settings-box.php file and this initial validation pass, AJAX post on line #332 fails and I receive message

Request failed. Error: unknown

Can you please help and fix first problem with wrong ID's in general-settings-box.php and then also see what's wrong with that latter request.

I'm confused.
Most of the time I get a "Keep alive enabled" when I'm testing.
Only sometimes and on some articles it doesn't seem to be enabled.

Does that make any sense?

I'm back. Although the solution I mentioned above worked for one site. I am now setting up another site and turning off the ModSec Security has had no positive effect.

Per numerous threads on this topic, I have done the following:

1. completely deleted my initial install of W3 Total Cache. Removed the lines of code relating to W3TC from both the .htaccess file and the wp-config file. Deleted the cache folder and the W3 config folder from wp-content.
2. completely disabled and deleted iThemes Security, though at this point in a new install, I hadn't enabled any of its features yet. I verified that there was nothing from this plugin in htaccess or wp-config and no database tables.
3. Disabled ALL other plugins.
4. verified in cpanel that mod_security was turned OFF.
5. Manually set all of the following files/folders to permissions of 777.
   • .htaccess
   • wp-config.php
   • /wp-content/
   • /wp-content/uploads/
   • /wp-content/upgrade/
   • /wp-content/themes/
   • /wp-content/plugins/
   • (I tried setting the root public_html folder to 777, but that caused an internal server 500 error, so it had to remain at 750.)
6. I then re-installed a fresh copy of W3 Total Cache and enabled it.

The results:

1. upon enabling W3TC, the error appears immediately atop the plugins page.
2. Clicking the button labeled "Update via FTP" opens what appears to be an empty progress bar that does absolutely nothing at all and provides no feedback, error message or anything.
3. Manually adding the "required changes" to .htaccess, then refreshing the page with the error .... the error still persists after refresht.
4. An inspection of the wp-config.php file shows that `/** Enable W3 Total Cache */
   define('WP_CACHE', true); // Added by W3 Total Cache` has been successfully added there.
5. An inspection of the wp-content folder shows that the 'cache' and 'w3t-config' folders have been successfully created, as has the 'advanced-cache.php' file.

At this point, I am still willing to concede that I have a server issue. I have used W3TC successfully for years on this very same host (inMotion). The thing that is different with these installs is that I now have one of their reseller accounts and I created each of these cpanels from their Web Host Manager Interface. But I can't for the life of me figure out where the screw up is.

So now, clicking on the 'uninstall' link under W3TC on the Plugins page gives the following error:

So many problems.

Well, I just conducted a very telling experiment.

After once again completely deleting W3Total Cache and then restoring all files and folders to their default permissions, I tried to install WP Super Cache. It had no problem writing to .htaccess or wp-config.php or creating files and folders within wp-content.

So I completely disabled and uninstalled and deleted WP Super Cache and tried re-installing W3TC and the same error occurs again.

So whatever is causing W3TC's problems in writing to .htaccess is apparently unique to W3TC, regardless of whether there is something different in my current server configuration vs. previous server configs where W3TC did not display this error.

I hate to switch to WP Super Cache, because I strongly prefer the interface and features of W3TC. But if a solution is not found for this issue, I will have no choice.

Hi,
i ran into an issue with W3 Total Cache today.

I excluded a custom-posttype loop from being cached, for it is used to display ads.
To shuffle the order of those posts i added 'orderby' => 'rand' to the WP_Query.

Yet on every reload the elements are in the same order, not reshuffled.

When limiting to a single post it loads a different post on each pageload, just like intended for all the elements.

Any possible issues i can't figure out here?

You have set up a CDN and I am guessing you have it set as a pull CDN. This simply means whenever someone is requesting a resource, that the CDN will pull it and serve it to the next visitor from its location.

I don't know what your exact settings are for it thought to help you.

I wrote a function (placed in my child theme's function.php file) which displays a random image from a certain category in my media library on the right side of the header. It works well, but since installing W3 Total Cache, the image never changes.

Is there a way I can exclude the (random) image from being cached, by targeting its class, or otherwise modifying the function?

I heard of some mfunc way of doing this, but firstly I got the impression that it was insecure, and secondly I can nowhere find any documentation on how to use it. Perhaps it has been discontinued?

It seems odd that such a sophisticated and important WordPress plugin has no mechanism to exclude elements easily - or maybe it has and I've missed it.

Would very much appreciate some pointers with this.

I am using a plugin that includes a link stylesheet in a noscript tag. When HTML minify is on, it gets removed and put in the head. This in turn screws up the site CSS.
