Some posts appearing as garbage

Hi, after upgrading to W3 Total cache 0.9.5.2 (we have wordpress 4.6.1) we get a random problem – some of our posts appear to the end users as garbage. Like this: http://prntscr.com/dxvd6m Repeated browser refreshes and cache clearing (on the browser and on the W3Total cache backend) doesn’t solve the problem. The only thing that seems to solve it is when I turn off browser caching in W3Total cache settings. Is it possible to diagnose or roll back the plugin version?

thanks

Website sporatically breaks with W3 enabled

Hello!

We’ve been using W3 mostly without issues on our site (pistilsnursery.com) for several years.

However today I noticed that pages are sporadically not loading, and instead displaying gibberish (see: http://pistilsnursery.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Screen-Shot-2017-01-19-at-4.05.30-PM.png).

I tested the issue by disabling other plugins that were recently updated, but this did not resolve the issue.

I then started testing W3, purging the caches and refreshing the page. This did not work. Disabling W3 entirely, however, solves the issue.

My wordpress admin remains functional regardless of whether W3 is enabled or disabled. However, only when enabled do I see the gibberish pages. When enabled, I currently use Page cache, Database cache, and Browser cache. I haven’t updated these settings since initially setting up the plugin, years ago. I am using the most current version of the plugin (0.9.5.2).

Please let me know how to fix this issue! Happy to provide any additional information.

Thank you very much in advance,
Jesse

Admin Login not directing to correct page

W3 Total Cache is not allowing redirection to correct page after wp-admin log in. I have wordpress installed in a subdirectory under the root named wordpress. For example, If the access controlled menu and page was at https://www.garrisonrr.org/contact-us-2/. W3 Total Cache will redirect logged in users to https://www.garrisonrr.org/wordpress/contact-us-2/ . This results in a 404 not found.

The two plugins that it doesn’t play well with are called WordPress Access Control Version 4.0.13 and the other is called Capability Manager Enhanced Version 1.5.7. These plugins allow me to restrict menu views and access to information to logged in users with specific roles. EVERYTHING works great until I activate W3 Total cache.

With W3 Total Cache installed if a person logs in they can see the menu item. However, once they click on the menu item the user gets a WordPress Logon popup. The problem is that when they enter their information in the popup and submit they get redirected to a URL with the subdirectory appended to the URL and then it redirects them to a 404 page not found. It should be noted that I have disabled cache for logged on users.

Everything else seems to work great with W3 Total cache, but I had to deactivate W3 Total Cache because of this problem.

Why does this happen only when I activate W3 Total Cache? I appreciate your wisdom and advise.

W3 Total Cache Minify Help Wizard shows no file

Our client’s WordPress recently auto updated to v4.7 (!!!), and W3 Total Cache [Version 0.9.5.2] is not completely running. Our site isn’t broken, but we can’t manually setup and JS or CSS files to Minify in the W3TC Wizard. When we try the Help Wizard, we get the message:

JavaScript: No files found.
Cascading Style Sheets: No files found.

Our client’s designer is using their own customized template, which might be what’s causing W3TC problems. We tried moving all the other non-active themes out of the /themes/ folder, but that didn’t help. We see nothing in the php debug file, either (with debugging enable).

Has anyone had success using the Help Wizard under WordPress 4.7? Does the WordPress 4.7.1 upgrade improve things?

How to compress specific files? (gzip compression question)

Hi,

When I run my website through webpagetest.org for example, I get an F for compress transfer. It’s telling me to “Use gzip compression for transferring compressable responses”. I’ve enabled HTTP (gzip) compression in the settings.

There are a number of files from the parent theme and some plugins where compression seems to fail (CSS and JS).

Examples:
FAILED – (118.4 KB, compressed = 19.1 KB – savings of 99.2 KB) – http://example.com/wp-content/themes/bootstrap-basic/css/bootstrap.min.css?x16700
FAILED – (11.1 KB, compressed = 4.1 KB – savings of 7.0 KB) – http://example.com/wp-includes/js/wp-emoji-release.min.js?ver=4.7.1

How do I go about making sure these files get compressed as well?

I can’t delete the parent theme or most the plugins that appear in the list, as they’re pretty essential to the website.

Thanks

Plugin Breaks Mobile Display

I’ve been researching this issue for days and can’t get a straight answer…

Since activating the plugin, my mobile site “breaks” in that no css, widgets, etc. are loaded (just an empty frame). It’ll work fine for a few hours, break, then “magically” fix a few hours later. The process repeats, and repeats, and repeats…

I’ve tried implementing a few fixes from support forums (manual minify, user groups, etc.) to no avail. The issue persists, and it seems a lot of users are having the same problem.

I’m shocked mobile functionality isn’t fundamentally built into this plugin. What’s the solution?

Thanks!

Opt in forms getting cached (as closed)

I’m using W3TC:free version, default settings + CDN.

And I’m using Thrive Leads to display opt-in forms. They are only appearing sporadically due to the “closed state” getting cached.

I’m wondering if you can point me in the direction of solving this issue.

I recognize it may be complex, but I’m ready to either pay you guys ($200 flat fee?) or hire a freelance developer.

Please advise.

Problems with cache

I have a site http://www.magicasdemae.com.br/, and I installed w3ct. On November 18 I did an update of the plugin and this broke my site.

I uninstalled the plugin on this day.

But over 2 months later, I’m still in trouble. When I enter the site by the main address, sometimes the current version appears (January 2017), but sometimes the November 2016 version still appears.

I tried installing w3ct one more time, to try to clear the cache and fix the problem. But I can no longer install the plugin on my site. The message appears:

“Fatal Error. Please update your PHP.” W3 Total Cache requires PHP version 5.3 or above ”

The detail is that I’m using PHP 5.6. That is, until the error message is in trouble.

I do not know what to do to fix the problem.

After update to last version 0.9.5.2 pages are shown only with hieroglyphs!

Today I updated the plugin to the last version 0.9.5.2.

Now I have noticed that the posts/pages of my blog are shown only with hieroglyphs. The start page works fine, but all posts/pages are shown in a letter mix (see Screenshot).

I have already deleted the cache of the Browser, also the cache of the plugin. Problem still exists.

The only solution for me: turn off the “page cache” in your plugin. Not an ideal solution.

I think with the last update (bevor the update I not had this problem) a big mistake has crept in.

Error 500 upon plugin activation

Hello,

I have days struggling with this problem. Hopefully you can help me.

I’m trying to install the latest version of W3 Total Cache in my blog.

– I download the latest version in my wp-content/plugins folder
– I unzip the contents of the file in my plugins folder
– I go to my plugins page and I click the “Activate” plugin

Immediately after clicking the link, the page throws me an error 500 page. Now all the wp-admin pages are behind this error 500 page. But the frontend pages work perfectly though, all the pages, posts, categories are viewed normally but the dashboard pages are behind this error 500.

The weirdest thing is, There is no trace of this error 500 on the Apache logs. I spoke with my hosting provider and they said it’s a problem with the plugin. When I remove the plugin folder (w3-total-cache) the dashboard works again. But as soon as I activate the plugin everything falls apart.

I made sure that:

– All the WordPress are owned by the apache user
– All the respective folders and files have the appropriate permissions (wp-content, .htaccess)
– The .htaccess is being written by the w3-total-cache plugin. It adds all the # BEGIN W3TC Browser Cache lines.

Do you guys have any idea what I’m missing here?

Thank you very much

After the WP 4.7.1 update W3 Total Cache plugin was corrupted and crashed my website with the following error… Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /hermes/bosnaweb20a/b1094/ipg.pupstarsonomacom/pupstarsonoma/wp-content/object-cache.php on line 51
iPage, the host of my site has told me there is a script that is “broken”. Being a noob and not being able to fix this myself, they are trying.
Has anyone else had this issue with W3 Total Cache and if so how did you resolve it?
I’m using a GT3 template, if that makes a difference. Any help would be fantastic as I’m dead in the water now.

Hello,
I find there’s something wrong with your code.
I find out that there’s 3 files that use a lot of disk space
They are:
/public_html/wp-content/cache/log/000000/dbcache.log
/public_html/wp-content/cache/log/000000/minify.log
/public_html/wp-content/cache/log/000000/pagecache.log

Those files consume more than 1 GB of diskspace.
How to disable the W3totalcache log so it won’t consume a lot of disk space

I use W3Total cache for years and it never broke my site. If I read all those broken comments I wonder what people are doing or what kind of server they run their site. I have use a shared hosting, a dedicated server and now a VPS,

I have tried W3Total Cache with different OS and different themes and plugins together and never had any problems or broken sites at all. Every time when I installed I use the import, because I set all settings years ago once so that I have never do it again,

Works fine here.

We have a WordPress site web hosted on Win2012 R2 with WinCache enabled (via PLESK).
wp-config.php is modified manually.
File web.config used is this (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35098167/w3-total-cache-iis-minify-error), the only document found:
rewrite>

But “Toggle all caching types on or off (at once)” cannot be enabed and W3 Total Cache not working.
Can anyone help me?

W3TC Plugin Not Integrating with CDN to Serve Certain Static Image Files

$

Hi all:

I think this is a known issue, but for the life of me, I see no solution to in in the forum so far and I’ve looked for two full days.

The W3TC plugin is configured with my CDN in “mirror” mode and for the most part all works fine, but 5 image files under the “uploads” directory refuse to be served from the cdn servers (eg. on the domain cdn.mysite.com) and are forced at the end of page loads to be served from the host.

This behaviour defeats the entire purchase of W3TC cache and my CDN when the largest files won’t serve from the CDN.

Does anyone have a clear solution to this major issue with integrating W3TC with CDN in the mirror configuration. I’ve checked and the image files are actually on the CDN (they get copied), but when the page builds, these images won’t serve from the CDN. Very frustrating. The CDN people I talked with about it are right this is a W3TC issue, though they could have shown a bit more interest as I’m sure it’s happening to more than just me.

I’m sure I configured the syntax properly so all my upload folder files should with the CDN because there’s several other image files that serve from the CDN just fine in the uploads folder, but there are 5 specific image files in that folder and sub folders under that folder that refuse to serve from the CDN.

Thanks for your help and time in advance. Appreciated.
