We will be testing this thoroughly and provide a fix after the testing is done.

2 months ago:

We’ve added an issue for this and we are working on it. This should be fixed in future releases.

New versions of the plugin have been released, but custom post type archives are still not purged when a custom post is saved.

Can this please be fixed ASAP?

Old blog pages are not loading properly

Hello,

The cache on my blog page has an issue. When I click more than once on previous pages in the navigation, there’s a error message saying the page had to be reloaded and it redirects back to page 1. If I click again, the page won’t load at all.

Funny thing, it does that with Safari, but not with Chrome.

I’ve purged nginx server, all caches and my browsers caches numerous times.

When I click on Purge current page, the message becomes There’s a recurring problem with the page : …/?w3tc_note=pgcache_purge_post

I guess I did something wrong with the settings. However, the problem still shows up after returning to my back up.

Also, maybe related, maybe not, I’ve had 404 errors coming from /cache/minify/24da7.default.include.786b3e.css and .js

Thank you for your help!

CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing

I have installed W3 Total Cache but I’m getting CORS error, on firefox and chrome:

Access to font at ‘https://cdn.domain.com/wp-content/themes/oceanwp/assets/fonts/fontawesome/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0’ from origin ‘https://domain.com’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource.

My htaccess file have the proper data:
I have followed these instructions:

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cors-header-access-control-allow-origin-missing/

and added this to the htaccess.php file:

<FilesMatch “\.(ttf|otf|eot|woff|woff2|svg)$”>
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
SetEnvIf Origin “http(s)?://(cdn|sub)\.domain\.com$” AccessControlAllowOrigin=$0
Header add Access-Control-Allow-Origin %{AccessControlAllowOrigin}e env=AccessControlAllowOrigin
Header merge Vary Origin
</IfModule>
</FilesMatch>

My htaccess file looks like this:

# BEGIN W3TC CDN

<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”
</IfModule>
<FilesMatch “\.(ttf|otf|eot|woff|woff2|svg)$”>
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
SetEnvIf Origin “http(s)?://(cdn|sub)\.domain\.com$” AccessControlAllowOrigin=$0
Header add Access-Control-Allow-Origin %{AccessControlAllowOrigin}e env=AccessControlAllowOrigin
Header merge Vary Origin
</IfModule>
</FilesMatch>

# END W3TC CDN

In addition I have allowed CORS on AWS S3 bucket and my S3 permissions looks like this:

<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
<CORSConfiguration xmlns=”http://s3.amazonaws.com/doc/2006-03-01/”>
<CORSRule>
<AllowedOrigin>https://*.domain.com</AllowedOrigin>
<AllowedMethod>GET</AllowedMethod>
<AllowedMethod>HEAD</AllowedMethod>
<AllowedMethod>DELETE</AllowedMethod>
<AllowedMethod>PUT</AllowedMethod>
<AllowedMethod>POST</AllowedMethod>
<MaxAgeSeconds>3000</MaxAgeSeconds>
<AllowedHeader>Authorization</AllowedHeader>
</CORSRule>
</CORSConfiguration>

Can you guide me to fix this problem ? In the meantime I have disabled the plugin.

Hi,
I have setup an amazon cloudfront along with IAM and s3 bucket, and entered the keys and alternative domain in the CDN settings.
However Im getting this error every time I try to run the test:
“Error: Error executing “ListDistributions” on “https://cloudfront.amazonaws.com/2018-11-05/distribution …”
Anyone knows what might be causing this?
I have also given full s3 access to the created IAM user.

Upload new attachments only to CDN

Hi,
I uploaded my initial media files to amazon CDN without any issues and everything works great.
Now I added a thousands more media files to my website, and when I click on upload attachments, it displays the total number of my media files including the previously uploaded ones.

How can I upload only the new attachments? Obviously I don’t want to push my whole media library every time I add a new image.

Thank you for your help!

W3TC Page Cache + AWS CloudFront

Does W3 Total Cache built-in CloudFront option support the delivery of all existing WP assets to CloudFront + S3 combo?

I had my setup per Amazon’s recommendation per the link below and used WP Offload Media to sync media library to S3 to reduce the load on my EC2. Soon to realize that all existing Page Cache by W3TC / theme customization does not sync up to my S3. In another word, only media worked for now due to the limitation of WP Offload Media.

https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/networking-and-content-delivery/how-to-accelerate-your-wordpress-site-with-amazon-cloudfront/

Will W3TC CDN CloudFront option update all necessary assets on S3 and delivery my contents via CloudFront? (themes/css/js/uploads/page cache/object cache)

Current AWS setup is with
– EC2 x2 (sync is cpu intensive / hence my intention to move most of everything to s3)
– RDS
– S3
– CloudFront

Issue with minification of JS

Hello,

we have issue on the website of our customer, on which they are using your plugin.

The issue is with the minification of Javascript files, which are not being updated after being changed. I tried multiple times deleting every possible cache in your plugin, but minified files still include old code without latest changes.

Only way to see latest changes is to turn off the minification in settings of W3 Total Cache, then we can see site without issues.

Thank you for your response in advance.

Minify setting causing ‘defer parsing of JavaScript’ alert

Hello,
I was having extremely slow page load times, but after activating your plugin and using the minify ‘auto’ settings I was able to get the load time under 3 seconds.

However, now when I check GTmetrix, I am receiving a high priority alert to ‘defer parsing of JavaScript.’ All of the items listed under this follow this format: “website.com/wp-content/cache/minify/XXXXX.js”

Using the ‘auto’ minify setting has also made Avada theme’s Fusion Builder Live unusable. If I change the minify setting to ‘manual’ I am able to use the theme’s editor again, but the load time goes back up to 6+ seconds and the page score goes back down.

I am also currently getting support from Avada Support about this topic, and they asked if I could contact you about the issue. I apologize in advance, as I am not the most knowledgeable about these technical issues.

Thank you,
Steph

W3TC cannot detect PHP 7.3 cache plugins

I’m using the latest version of W3TC with WordPress 5.2.4 and PHP 7.3. I found that W3TC only detects Opcache successfully and can only enables Opcode cache with Zend Opcache. Other cache plugins including Memcached, Redis and APCu cannot be detected by W3TC.
This really bothers me a lot. I don’t know if this is a compatibility problem with PHP 7. Looking forward to your reply.

Testing: Need to Disable W3 Total Cache Temporarily

We have W3 Total Cache and Amazon CDN

There is an ad rotating plugin I want to try but I am told that the W3 Total Cache plugin will keep it from working without an additional plugin to install.

What I would like to do is disable temporarily, or pause, W3 Total Cache to see how this rotating plugin works and if it does work then we would install this additional plugin. But I don’t want to mess up my website.

So what would be the best way to see my website without W3 Total Cache in place so I can check out this ad rotating plugin?

Thanks.

W3 Cache directory, .htaccess, and iThemes.

We use W3 total cache on sites but we also use iThemes as a security plugin. One of the features that we use is their file change notifications, so every day we get a list of files that have been updated in the previous 24 hours. This includes additions, deletions, and content changes

With W3, a LOT of the cache directory changes – as you would expect over the course of a day of cache management.

We can exclude certain paths, and I would not be against doing that for the /wp-content/cache folder, but if I do that, I also want to create an htacces file (or entry int he main one..) that then excludes that folder from being web accessed via the public web.

So is it possible to confirm a couple of things:

1) If I added a .htaccess file to /wp-content/cache that was simply “Deny from all”, will that hinder the functionality of the W# plugin?

2) If I do the things in #1, will the plugin leave that alone when the cache is managed?

3) Is there a better way to accomplish the same result – whether that’s moving the cache directory out of public html, using redis or some other cache storage, etc.

I’m open to suggestions as long as it allow me to let iThemes leave the cache directory alone, and yet keep it safe from the prying eyes of the world.

Thanks,
~Mark

How do I resolve this? Thank you for any assistance

Pass HTTP Basic Auth credentials to prevent 401s for Minify / Page Cache?

Hi – I have a development site where I have basic Apache password authentication setup. I am running into an issue with the Page Cache and Minify extensions not being able to write to .htaccess or the compatibility check able to detect my Apache Mods. Is there anyway we can get a couple fields in the settings with our basic auth creds that the plugin can pass in order to test things are working while behind basic auth?

Cannot eliminate render blocking JS and CSS

If I use automatic minify settings the site breaks, likely due to manged CSS but all the JS and CSS are no longer render blocking according to the google tool. When I use manual no minification of anything occurs as far as I can tell and all the JS and CSS remain with their render blocking status.

There are no errors on admin end. All options on the Minify page are set to enable, and JS is set to Non-blocking.

I tried everything I could think of. Nothing elicited any workable response, hence my post.

Maybe it has something to do with this option: JS file management:

Theme:

Files are minified by template. First select the theme to manage, then add scripts used in all templates to the “All Templates” group. Use the menu above to manage scripts unique to a specific template. If necessary drag & drop to resolve dependency issues (due to incorrect order).

I have no idea what that means. Nevertheless I added JS that are used by the active theme (41 scripts), did nothing. I also have duplicate of the theme used (both child and parent) in the list of themse so I am not even sure which one to add scripts under, and why.

Images from urls disappeared

Hello!

I have a problem with the images on my website.

The images uploaded from the library seemed to be shown well in my website, but I have a lot of images inserted from external URLs that are no longer showing, none of them.

I replaced the images, but they don’t appear even if the url they come from is working pretty fine.

I noticed this error a few days ago, but I’ve no idea if the problem has something to do with W3 or it’s something else.

I’m not an expert so if some of you can tell me if this issue could be an error in the settings of the plugin, and the way I can fix it, I would really appreciate it.

CDN (CloudFront) and WebFonts

Ok guys, hoping someone can help I’ve tried everything available online to no avail!

I’m using Siteground to host my website, using W3TC alongside an Amazon Cloudfront CDN.

All images, CSS, JS etc etc load perfectly from the CDN.

Webfonts however… I’m getting the dreaded:

“Access to font at ‘https://cdn.tpet.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/mobile-menu/includes/css/font/mobmenu.woff2?31192480’ from origin ‘https://tpet.co.uk’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource.”

Error for all my web fonts.

What I have tried…

– Setting a CORS policy on the S3 bucket
– Adding the ‘origin’ header to the CDN distribution behaviour
– Setting the CDN behaviour to ‘HTTPS’ only.
– Various other tweaks on the CDN side of things.

– Editing the .htaccess to – Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*” – for all appropriate files.
– I’ve tried many, many different .htaccess edits from around the web including targeting just the CORS env

As a last ditch effort to at least use the CDN for JS, IMGS, HTML etc I’ve tried to STOP the CDN from getting the font files from the CDN but it seems that no matter what I try the font locations are always written into the minified CSS files as CDN links.

Here are my CDN settings in W3TC – at the time of writing, webfonts are still being requested from the CDN and causing errors, even though the CSS is now being loaded locally…

OFF - Only Purge Manually
OFF - Disable for SSL
OFF - Use CDN links for ML
ON - Add CORS header (have also tried switching this off, didnt work)
OFF - Disable for roles

I’ve tried lots of other tweaks too, I’ve spent days trying to solve this using various blogs (including amazons own help post on this subject) to no avail.

Please can someone help?

At this point i’d settle for the fonts just to be loaded locally, i’d prefer everything to come from the CDN but I just want a working website!
