W3TC settings in automatic deployments

Hi,

We have an installation that automatically deploys when the system detects problems. As it does from a repository, I would like to know if there is any file from the plugin itself that stores the configuration you set up.The thing is that at this moment we lost the configuration everytime the server deploy automatically.

I’ve seen that there is an option to store it in the DB, but I wanted to know if there is a way to do it from a file that can be left previously ready in that repository.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hey,

i activated Cloudflare + S3 and the upload worked perfectly. When i use a S3 Explorer i see all the files.
But when i open the website no pictures will be loaded because the URL isnt working, but only for uploaded media files.
The Path should be:
../wp-content/uploads/2019/08/image.jpg
and is:
../wp-content/uploads/2019/08/06221120/image.jpg

There is an folder added which isnt existing – also the foldername (06221120 in this example) varys from month to month

any idea whats the problem?

Does W3tc have specific settings for users of BootstrapCDN? Will the same settings used for MaxCDN work here? Thanks.

W3 Causes Images to Disappear

I’m running into an issue that’s preventing me from implementing W3 Total Cache on my website.

What happened?:
1. Our website had W3 Total Cache installed but not activated. So I tried activating it to improve our loading speed.
2. After activating W3, images weren’t appearing on the pages for some reason. They’re still on the server, but they’re not appearing on the pages where they’re supposed to show up.

What have I tried so far?:
1. Used W3’s preview mode
2. Purged W3’s cache before deactivating the plugin
3. Purged Essential Addons’ cache (I couldn’t deactivate the cache because there is no option for that and I can’t deactivate the plugin itself as the web developers said that they use it to build their pages.)
4. Turn on a setting on W3, save and clear cache, check pages for missing images, turn on another setting if the images are okay, rinse and repeat.

If this seems more like an issue that should be taken to Essential Addons, please let me know so I can take it to the right forum.

Thanks,
Marco

Some wordpress pages only working properly once W3 Cache is disabled

Hi,

I am having some problems with certain pages not working properly when the W3 cache is enabled.

When I go to https://www.dbeinstitute.org/event/bilt-europe-2019/materials/ for example and put in the PW required to access the materials page it doesn’t let me get past this screen.

If I turn off W3 cache, the page works as it should and lets me get to the materials. I have checked the page cache settings in W3 and it is set to not cache this page (or any other materials page for that matter). I have purged the cache as well and we recently also moved to another host (this problem was happening on the old host too).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Cameron

Hi, I’ve been searching this forum and the web and can’t find a description of what the Page Cache Advanced Settings checkbox to Enable Compatibility Mode actually does.

What _does_ it do?

Thanks.

301 redirect status code changed to 404

301 redirects are not working properly. When I am logged into my site (and W3TC is therefore not active) the redirects work fine. If I log out and access a redirected URL it does not work properly.

See page link provided for an example (only shown to logged-in users).

This returns a horrible “Object Moved” page. The server is sending back a Location header (correctly) but a status code of 404 (incorrectly – should be 301).

The server is probably what is generating the “Object Moved” page, due to the strange situation of a location header + 404.

The redirects are managed by the Yoast SEO plugin. Are you aware of any conflict between Yoast and W3TC?

I got an even more obscure error about content encoding before, and then I turned gzip compression off in W3TC. It seems like W3TC was trying to gzip this page and somehow corrupting it. Maybe some sort of content-length mismatch as W3TC will not have been aware of anything the server was doing to the page afterwards.

W3 Total Cache Prevents Gravity Forms

When W3 Total Cache is on Gravity Forms won’t display a confirmation message. When you click submit, it still sends the form in the form of an email, but the contact us page won’t transition to another page or display a confirmation message.

Is there a work around for this?

Page Cached

Hello,

I am having an issue where the site is cached even after I deactivate the plugin. Regardless of what settings I change, the only thing to appear on the homepage is an audio player, and the cached version a page created by a coming soon/maintenance plugin. Said plugin has been deactivated and deleted. I’ve tried purging the cache, turning off the extensions, and as mentioned above deactivating the plugin, but the same coming soon screen is the only thing that appears on the home screen.

Any guidance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Victor

Hi.

I made some settings of the plugin and it is literally ruining my site.

So I would like to reinstall or reset the plugin as if it were new, without any configuration.

How can I do it?

W3TC security header not working on NGINX

Security header (set from browser cache), not working on NGINX, because the add_header is put outside location, so it’s get ignored.

You guys have to put the add_header inside location, each location must contain that security header.

“request failed” on custom files export to CDN

I’m trying to export my custom files to my CDN and the upload keeps getting stuck after uploading a portion of the files, saying “request failed.” It keeps retrying but always fails.

I’ve isolated the problem to one of the plugin .js files (if I remove “{plugins_dir}/*.js” from the list of “custom files” then the problem disappears.

Is there some way to identify the file that it’s getting stuck on? Is there a log somewhere?

Why is this happening and what can I do to prevent it or at least work around it?

Thanks.

Dear Marko,

I got from my provider second port no. Which should I indicate with varnish in w3tc? Thanks Many regards Rick

Varnish port : 6082 (localhost)
Varnish administration port : 6081

So I’m not sure what to enter. Either: 127.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.1:6082 or 127.0.0.1:6081

Is this the correct way to hide a single page?

Under Page Cache > Never cache the following pages:
wp-.*\.php
index\.php
/contact-us/

Does there need to be a * in front of the /contact-us? (e.g. */contact-us)
Does there need to be a / after /contact-us? (e.g. /contact-us/)

403 () error with Ajax

Hi,

Im using popup builder plugin which uses ajax to submit subscription form.

An 403 error is thrown every time a user tries to subscribe on the popup form with the following error “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 () /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()”

This goes away if W3 plugin is disabled, so its a caching issue.

How do I exclude a plugin and solve this issue?
Thanks.

Icon .ttf not gzipped on NGINX

Problem: My ttf icon not served in gzip.

However, the icon already served from W3TC nginx block, I can see other headers including x-powered-by: W3 Total Cache/0.10.1

The site’s HTML successfully gzipped, and I already set gzip for media and other files on W3TC browser setting.

Is this bug?

Further check, the ttf have query string, while the W3TC nginx block contains $ at the end. But I don’t think this is the problem because the ttf successfully goes through it… huh weird.
