Hi there, did you receive any response to this email? I am also having problems with my quiz. I don't have participant's registering, however, when a quiz is set up it comes up with an option that they must register. Is there anyway around this?

Many thanks in advance.

Nicole89s on "[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Huge Disk space usage, how to clean up?"

Hello,
i am using this amazing plugin, and it works very good.
The problem is that in the last days i ve received a notification that in my shared hosting account the disk space is almost finish (i have 25 GB) and i am reaching 20gb basically not adding new contents.

In my FTP foders i found tons of this files "core.xxxxxxx", each one weigh 50mb in the average, and they have begun to be created after the plugin installation.
I ve already empty the cache, but basically nothing changed.
So my question is how to clean up space, can i delete these files withouy issues?
thanks in advance.

My website url is http://www.gauraw.com

No matter what I do, the CDN URL for two images just before the footer on my home page is not being used.I have other images on the same page which are using correct CDN URL. But not these two (One that says, "Read About Me" and the other says "Need Professional Services For Your Business".

MaxCDN said it's the problem with the W3TotalCache because it's not rewriting the URL correctly for those images.

Can I get some help?

Thanks,
Kumar

I fixed it myself.
Well, actually I found a work around.
W3TotalCache isn't taking "custom folders" for images in account even though there is an option to include custom folders.
When I moved the files into one of the "upload" folders within wp-content, the URL began to work.
Seems like a bug in the plugin.

I'm working on migrating a site to a new host and I'm having all kinds of problems with W3 Total Cache. It worked fine on the old host structure, but having a big issue on the new host. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of W3TC (9.2.11), then uninstalling and re-installing the version I had previously had running on the the old host site which worked (9.2.9). Each version gives a different error message. The message provided in the 9.2.9 installation seems to point to the problem.

W3 Total Cache Error: The plugin tried to edit, /.htaccess, but failed. Files and directories cannot be modified. Please review your file permissions. A common cause is .htaccess and /home/wvuped5/public_html/wp-content having different ownership or permissions.

When clicking the "Show Technical Information Button" it shows:

  • File: /home/username/public_html/wp-config.php File permissions are 644 File owner: wvuped5:wvuped5
  • File: /.htaccess File permissions are 0, however they should be 644. File owner: root:root
  • Directory: /home/username/public_html/wp-content File owner: username:username
    Owner of current file: username:username
  • The files and directories have different ownership, they should have the same ownership.

The thing that jumps out at me is that the first error shows the complete server filepath that lives BEFORE the WordPress files, but the second seems to be looking for htaccess at the root directory of the server, rather than the root directory of the site.

Note that the .htaccess file at /home/username/public_html/.htaccess is correctly set to 644. Also note that I manually added the w3tc code to that htaccess file, but w3tc doesn't recognize that the code has been added.

I cannot test this theory by creating an .htaccess file at the root... the highest level at which I be able to create a file is /home/username/.htaccess

Does anyone know if this is a problem relating to the plugin or to my server configuration?

Note that WordPress had no problem finding the htaccess file and inserting the Permalink code when I set the Pretty Permalinks.

Most importantly, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks

I've given up on this. Is seemed to work again for a while, now public home page is just blank. Great plugin when it works, but obviously useless since it doesn't. Off to try another solution

I've been trying to improve the Pagespeed and YSlow score of my site, http://www.weddingdecoratorblog.com and every guide out there recommends W3TC as a way to do this. But every time I've tried it, its broken my site one way or another. Trying to use minify? Breaks my site design. Pages won't load. If the homepage works, nothing else will. Or, if inside pages, then there's no homepage. I've even deleted it and other cache plugins, along with other plugins to help speed up my site, in an effort to get a fresh install working the way everyone says it will work. I just had to disable it again today. I don't know the problem with this plugin and I don't really expect my problem to be resolved since it just doesn't seem to want to work with my site. Just wanted the plugin author to know it is a problem.

I am running the W3TC plugin and my site is very fast - sort of. Let me qualify that. The site may get 1-2 new blog posting a week but very little traffic. Maybe 3 visitors a week - but I need it to be very fast for these visitors.

I am using a CDN (which is very fast) and the site is quite well optimized now (by w3-Edge).

The only remaining problem I encounter is the first element that comes down expires when garbage collection takes place. Then the next time the page is accessed after garbage collection, it takes 1.5-2.5s of "wait" time and then the graphics, js, css files etc come down in <60ms from the CDN. And after that "wiat" time for that page is very fast again (10ms) until the next garbage collection takes place.

Is there a practical way to stop the page from expiring - garbage collection is currently set at 86000. So it I visited every page in the site, the site would be lightning fast for 24 hours.

How do I reduce the "wait" time for a page that is no longer cached? Is this a matter of just having a really fast server? Or a server with a lot of memory? Waiting 2-3s+ to load every page on the site after garbage collection is not acceptable to me.

Hello all.

Firstly, for the administrators, I have began by going thoroughly through the documentation/FAQ page and doing a full search through wordpress.org and going through prior posts such as http://wordpress.org/support/topic/mfunc-still-not-working

Sadly, I believe the issue is a bug with W3 Total Cache.

--------------------------------------------------------------

What I've been trying to do is run a piece of PHP code in my theme's header.php file every time a page is loaded. However, upon turning page caching on the script stops being loaded because page caching is simply just storing an HTML copy of a page thus the php code will not be run, at least to my understanding. Even if I set page caching to ignore header.php it has no effect simply because the page is actually stored under the page_enhanced cache as the actual page-example.html file and thus does not call the header.php file.. I have attempted using the mfunc functions inside of the header.php file but still it does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the page cache does indeed speed up the wait time for loading the web page but this piece of PHP code is critical to be run on every page loaded.

I'm also a W3 Total Cache user who is running it with WordPress 3.6 and haven't encountered any issues thus far.

The reason for being careful about performing the WordPress upgrade is to give you time to make sure your important plugins will be compatible with the new version. I've already seen some of my important plugins get updated to support WordPress 3.6 before I even upgraded WordPress, itself.

SO FAR my W3 Total Cache with WordPress 3.6 experience has been good. :)

Peace...

Hello,

when I switch to WP admin I get often (on page edit submits always) blank page. Sometime it displays "The connection was reset" in Firefox, but sometimes it doesn't load anything at all. Apache and PHP logs are empty.

Deleting all domain cookies and logging in again helps.

Any advice on how to fix this? It gets very annoying after some time.

Solved this problem on my site by changing w3TC JS minify settings from automatic to manual.

W3TC Performance > General Settings > Minify > Minify mode - set to manual.

I made no other changes, but you can go to the Minify tab in w3TC and select where in the page you want to minify JS, and add any JS files.

Also, make sure any CDN or performance network (e.g., CloudFlare) JS minifications settings aren't interfering with the Twenty Twelve menu button on mobile devices. For example, I changed my CloudFlare settings from "Minify JS and CSS" to "Minify CSS only". Now the menu button works and the changes only made the site a fraction slower.

I just saw this entry via xcache Diagnosis tool:

"Cache Size | Warning | Out of memory happened when trying to write to cache | Increase xcache.size and/or xcache.var_size"

Could it be pages don't load because xcache reached allocated memory? It shouldn't be the case cause I use "Don't cache pages for following user roles" for admins.
