Temp Fix

I renamed the W3 Total Cache plugin and that fixed the problem

What is the solution?

What is the solution to reactive? Simply delete the exploit? If yes, how to stop it from happening again?

In trying to get this plugin to work on this site, as it works just fine on shop.raspberryshake.ord, I received a 500 error and it crashed my browser. I had our sysadmin delete the w3TC folder as this is standard fix when plugins are causing issues. THis got rid of the 500 error, so the website is up, but we are now getting:

ERROR: An error was encountered while trying to authenticate. Please try again.

We cannot plogin into WP so I cannot restore the folder from a backup and discovered that we do not have server side backups… How can we get around this error to login?

I have everything setup correctly I believe with expires headers, however i’m still grading out as if nothing is working properly on gtmetrix.

I just got the message “You’re running debug mode, it’s using Resources and not recommend to run continuously” on the dashboard of one of my sites. After a bit of digging, I found it’s coming from W3 Total Cache.

Thanks for the message; it is helpful as i didn’t realise I had left one of the debug settings on. However could you please remember that users aren’t going to instantly know what plugin a message is from unless you tell them. I’d like to at least see a “Turn it off” button added to the alert which takes us to the W3TC settings so we don’t have to hunt around on the net to find what plugin it’s from.

I just created a second website, and decided I would use W3 to handle caching on this website as well, so I copied the settings over from my first site. I only use it for Browser Caching, but for some reason, whenever I perform a GTMetrix report it gives me an F (0) for Browser Caching. My other site receives scores above 80 typically, so do you have any ideas why this website would be different with the exact same settings?

Any help would be appreciated!

We have an issue with another Caching plugin, so we are looking at others.

On their plugins you can clear the cache of a single page, but not the CSS. If you want to clear that, you have to do the whole site, which is a drain and waste on the available RAM.

When we redesign a page, and need to add or edit some CSS Class, this is the problem. Looks great. Now we want people to see it. Oh – we have to clear the entire system. Rather than the CSS, and one page.

Can this plugin do that?

Hello Team,

I am highly disappointed with the W3TC plugin. Its creating new bugs everyday hence I decided to remove it. But after disabling the Minify, it started creating the problems. Now in my console error is showing of jquery not found and the Rev sliders are not displaying.

I want to remove the cache plugins as I am planning to introduce GEO on my website.

I have already excluded the main jquery file in js exclude section but no luck.

Kindly respond ASAP so that I can get rid of this stupid errors.

I have an issue. Seems after setting up the plugin, the site is certainly faster, but when I click “add to cart” it loads super slow. Any idea?

Hello! My site is working great with the CDN and my page speed scores have increased dramatically but my site is having problems loading Elementor’s Font Awesome icons.

When I looked at it on GTMetrix, the icons failed to load and the response is ”
No Response Headers – Request failed”

When you actually go to the link https://cdn.educast.network/wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/lib/font-awesome/webfonts/fa-regular-400.woff, you can actually download the file but it still doesn’t show up on the main site.

Hello,

I just wanted to make you aware (and see if there is anything you could do to help) that on July 15th (I know I’m a bit late!) the W3 Total Cache Plugin crashed my site and it took my host two days to fix the problem. I couldn’t log into my dashboard or anything until they fixed it and lost two days of traffic.

They had to rename public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache to w3-total-cache.bak

They also had to rename the following files with .bak:

public_html/wp-content/db.php
public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php
public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php

So of course, the Plugin at the moment is inactive and I cannot update/reactivate in it’s the current state.

I’d like to know how to move forward with this. I like the Plugin to help with site speed but I’m very wary of deleting it and downloading it again in case the same thing were to happen.

What are my options at this point? Do you know why this happened, was it the settings/theme for example?

Hello, I’m getting conflict with your pluging and the events calendar. I checked this problem with the other plugin author and they suggest not to minify:
If you have a caching or minification plugin enabled and notice the front-end of your site works once you disable minification, then we’d recommend you not minify.

I downloaded W3 Total Cache and enabled a couple settings. I turned on minify for HTML, CSS, and Javascript and now I can not login to my back end of the wordpress account. mydomain.com/wp-admin/ is unresponsive and can not load. My other domains on my hosting still work, so it is not a hosting issue.

I am asking for advice on how I can fix this issue. I can not get into my backend of my wordpress, so disabling the plugin is not an option.

I set W3TC to cache page for login user. But this will cause my monitor user usage plugin(activity log) can not show user usage, only user first click will show on log dashboard.

is there any can do to get login user usage and also have page cache?

As the title says, I was using W3 total cache to optimise my website (www.skyrocketyourteam.com). Got impressive results in GTmetrix with an A-99% by using it, so I was rpetty happy… until I checked the website on mobile and I found it was just blank.

After some reloads, this message was displayed:

I started by the obvious: if I disabled W3, mobile was OK. Then I started disabling independently different options and I found out that was is causing the error is the database cache optimisation.

With it unchecked, website works nicely on mobile, but the scores get a serious hit in GT metrix down to C and D levels.

Hopefully somebody could give me a little heads-up here, since I can’t fix it with the solutions provided online (user agents) or applying solutions to other similar but not exactly the same issues here on the forum.

I have an active stackpath account and subsequent CDN.

When I try to click the ‘authorize’ button within the CDN settings section it doesn’t take me anywhere. The ‘Sign up now and save!’ button takes me to the Stackpath website but I can’t authorize my account via the w3 plugin page
